Microsoft Teams custom agents

A while ago, Microsoft allowed organizations to enhance their Teams experience with custom engine agents and bots that use corporate data to help employees get work done faster.

According to a recent entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will enhance these custom engine agents and bots to stream responses similar to Microsoft Copilot.

They can now give you real-time updates as they work, just like Microsoft Copilot. They can show parts of their response as they create it, making everything feel quicker and more interactive.

Here’s what the entry says:

Custom engine agents and Teams bots can now stream responses like Microsoft Copilot. They can provide real-time updates on their actions while delivering parts of the response as they generate it, making interactions feel faster and more engaging.

The capability is set to be released in December 2024.

In other news, Microsoft Teams will also be enhanced to detect phishing attacks in the messaging tool automatically. We don’t know yet if users can create a bot to let you know when it happens, but Microsoft will most likely allow it.
