AI is the future, and Google continues to lead the way. After integrating AI features like History Search, Tab Organizer, Help Me Write, and Tab Compare into Chrome, they’re now introducing an AI-powered solution for Chromebooks to troubleshoot Bluetooth issues.
Google recently announced Chromebook Plus devices featuring integrated Google AI like Gemini and HelpMeWrite, even AI-generated wallpapers. And, the company confirmed plans to incorporate more Android into ChromeOS, paving the way for rapid integration of new AI features for faster and smarter Chromebooks. Building on this, a new AI feature is being prepared.
How will BlueBuddy fix Chromebooks Bluetooth issues?
Most Chromebooks support Bluetooth for devices like keyboards, mice, gaming consoles, and Android phones. However, troubleshooting Bluetooth problems can be frustrating. Google is addressing this with a new AI assistant called BlueBuddy, coming to ChromeOS.
Imagine the frustration of trying to connect wireless headphones that won’t work. Meet Google’s new AI feature is designed to understand and resolve Bluetooth problems, which could be from pairing issues to audio dropouts.
WindowsReport has discovered hints of this AI assistant in commit messages, suggesting it will be accessible from the chrome://bluetooth-internals page.
The tool, dubbed BlueBuddy, will prompt users to Enter an Issue and I will recommend a fix. The new page itself might be titled Troubleshoot with AI. along with other options available like Adapter, Devices, and Debug logs.
To check if your Chromebook has Bluetooth, click on the status bar and look for the Bluetooth icon. While it’s unclear if BlueBuddy will be available on all Chromebooks or just Chromebook Plus models, visiting chrome://bluetooth-internals will provide clarity once the feature is released. So, the next time you encounter Bluetooth woes, BlueBuddy, your AI companion, will be there to assist you.
Besides this, recently we reported Chromebook to allow disabling trackpad via an accessibility setting. That’s not all. Google is bringing the Stylus Handwriting feature powered by Samsung Android Stylus to Chrome on Windows, to offer strict and balanced modes to get control over warnings you receive while navigating to insecure sites.
Google is also disabling automatic Password generation in Chrome based on reports of over promptings received by users.
