  • Help information has been added to some rows on the Profile Preferences Page to assist users.
  • The company introduced a new custom border to save and update the password flyout.

Improvements

  • Fixed an issue where the browser would crash on startup after an upgrade installation on Android.
  • Resolved an issue when switching to any search engine would cause the browser to crash on iOS.
  • Sidebar apps are no longer pre-installed for new users in Gamer Mode.
  • The wallpaper was previously enlarged on the New Tab Page but has now been fixed.
  • The New Tab and Edit icons in the tab group showed the same tooltip as the tab group name; this has been resolved.

iOS specific fixes

  • Under experimental settings, text in the Soft-landing UI section now appears clear on iOS.
  • The PDF toolbar would previously appear upon signing in with an AAD account; this has been fixed.
  • After clicking the ‘Exit InPrivate mode’ button, the New Tab Page would sometimes switch to dark mode; this has been resolved.
  • The PDF toolbar would briefly appear on non-PDF pages; this has been fixed.
  • ‘News and more’ would be displayed in feeds when the tab center was clicked while opening a new tab page; this has been resolved.

With this update, Microsoft has also resolved several other issues that caused the Edge browser to crash, misbehave, or display UI incorrectly on different platforms. The original announcement post contains the full list of resolved issues and known problems.

It’s worth mentioning that some of the features mentioned might not be available to all users in the Dev channel just yet, as Microsoft is gradually enabling them for testing purposes.
